ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, announces that it has been awarded a contract from Holcim (Maroc) SA. In 2004 Holcim decided to build the packing plant at the Settat location, about 70km south of Casablanca, Morocco. China's Sinoma signs US$580m cement deal

China ’s Sinoma International Engineering Co Ltd said it has signed a US$580m deal with Saudi Cement Co to build two cement production lines.  The Shanghai-listed engineering firm said the production lines will be located in Hofuf in eastern Saudi Arabia .  Earlier this year the company won another contract to design and build a cement plant in Saudi Arabia worth US$167.5m.  Sinoma’s largest shareholder is state-controlled China Non-Metal Materials Corp.

FLSmidth & Co AS said it has won a DKr1.4bn order from Emirates Cement Company to supply a complete cement plant with an annual capacity of 3Mt of cement. Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. said Thursday it has received an order from Chinese cement giant China Anhui Conch Group for facilities to produce electricity by using waste heat generated by cement plants.
