Sinoma signs EP contract with Itacamba Cemento

Sinoma International has signed a formal EP contract with Itacamba Cemento, a subsidiary of Votorantim, for a 2000tpd line in Bolivia. The contract scope is from raw material crushing to cement silo. Sinoma’s  responsibilities cover engineering design, mechanical equipment supply, transportation on DAP basis, on-site services, etc. The project schedule is 24 months.

Wärtsilä wins first bulk carrier order for its new engine

A new cement carrier being built at the Scheepswerf Ferus Smit yard in the Netherlands will feature a six-cylinder Wärtsilä 34DF main engine, making it the first bulk carrier to adopt Wärtsilä’s multi-fuel capability. The ship has been ordered by JT Cement, a joint venture between Erik Thun AB of Sweden and KG Jebsen Cement of Norway. Christian Pfeiffer has contracted Siemens to supply an integrated drive system and automation technology for the new CMS Cement plant in Kuching in the state of Sarawak, Malaysia . Cargotec's Siwertell has received an order from CITIC Heavy Industries Co Ltd (CITIC) for a rail-travelling ship unloader. The ST-640 M-type unloader has been ordered to support the energy production requirements for a new cement production facility in Myanmar and will unload coal from barges at a rate of 800tph. Cemex is supplying 250,000m3 of a variety of specialised, ready-mix concretes for the construction of the new Braskem Idesa-Etileno XXI Plant in Veracruz, Mexico. The plant, which will produce ethylene and polyethylene, is the largest petrochemical investment in Mexico in the past 20 years.
