Babcock to manage Lafarge fleet, North America

Lafarge has awarded Babcock International a UK£100m fleet management contract across its cement and aggregates sites in North America. The 10-year deal sees Babock providing a fleet managed serviced for Lafarge’s heavy mobile equipment. Starlinger delivers 100th AD*STAR conversion line

The ad*starKON 60 is conversion line for the worldwide patented AD*STAR sacks developed by Starlinger & Co of Austria.  In December 2011 the 100th line for the production of block bottom valve bags out of woven polypropylene tapes was delivered. With a production capacity of up to 60 sacks per minute and an efficiency of more than 85 per cent it achieves an output of 22 million sacks per year.

Al Jouf awards contract for Line No 2, Saudi Arabia

Saudi cement producer, Al Jouf Cement, has awarded China’s Chengdu Design & Research Institute the contract for the construction of a second production line with a capacity of 5000tpd. The contract value is SAR885m (US$236m). The project is to be financed with a combination of Al Jouf’s own funds and debt and is scheduled to take 25 months to complete.

Eurocement awards contract for new power facilities, Russia

Russia’s leading cement producer, Eurocement Group, is to build power facilities in the Samara region and has signed a contract with FGC UES for their construction. Power facilities to be constructed include a 220kW transmission line and a 220kV electric power substation, SKIRIN news reports.

Sparton Resources Inc announced that its subsidiary company, Yunnan Sparton Environtech Co Ltd (YSET) has executed a Letter of Intent and cooperation agreement with Lafarge Shui On (Beijing) Technical Services Co, Ltd (LSOC).
