The managing director of Saman Cement Co, in Kermanshah, West Iran, has said that Iraq's high import duties on cement has put the Iranian cement industry in crisis, reports the Tasnim News Agency. Vietnam: export volumes fall for first five months

Vietnam earned US$260.64m from exporting 7.12Mt of cement and clinker in the first five months of this year, down 0.7 per cent on-year in value and 15.7 per cent in volume. Iran Mercatile exchange resumes cement export trade

Cement offerings for export have resumed at Iran Mercantile Exchange, the IME chief said. 
Isfahan Cement Company initiated the offering with 2000t of cement on Saturday, 1000t of which were traded on cash payment.

Bangladesh remains Vietnam's strongest export market

From January to April, Vietnam exported 5.99Mt of cement and clinker to Bangladesh, which remains Vietnam's largest export market with US$64.46m. The Philippines (US$58.47m), Taiwan (US$10.67m), Mozambique (US$9.9m), and Chile (US$9.72m) are also major importers of Vietnamese cement. Vietnam's cement consumption in these four months was also very positive reaching 18.85Mt, representing an increase of 117.4 per cent YoY.

Moldova applies quota on cement imports from Ukraine

The government of Moldova has introduced protective quotas and duties on several commodities including cement produced in Ukraine. The resolution of the Moldovan government said products will be limited with quotas, while goods imported in excess of the restrictions will have protective duties applied. September’s figures were disappointing for the cement industry as dispatches registered 2.95Mt, a decline of 6.4 per cent annually (-3.7 per cent monthly). As anticipated, exports continued their downward fall by 36 per cent YoY where growth in local dispatches (+2.5 per cent YoY) failed to compensate for the decline in exports.
