Flintshire Council's planning committee has granted permission for a new solid revered fuel (SRF) facility at Heidelberg Material 's subsidary  Hanson UK ’s Padeswood cement site, which represents a GBP4m (US$4.95m/EUR4.55m) investment and will safeguard 177 jobs. Holcim to invest over US$2bn in CCUS

Holcim plans to invest CHF2bn (US$2.187bn) by 2030 in carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) technologies to capture more than 5Mt of CO 2 each year. Spain's cement market contracts 7% in February

Cement consumption in Spain has fallen 7.1 per cent YoY to 1,175,290t in February, reports Oficemen. The association’s Managing Director, Aniceto Zaragoza, points that in February 2022 market growth was high at 14 per cent YoY and the month saw the highest February demand volumes in the last decade. FLSmidth has celebrated the installation of its   FUELFLEX ® Pyrolyzer at Mannok Cement , Ireland. Buzzi Unicem 's group net sales rose to EUR3996m, up 16 per cent from EUR3446m in 2021. However, cement sales of 28.33Mt in 2022 marked a decline of 9.2 per cent from the 31.2Mt recorded in 2021. CEMEX trials truck discharge equipment

CEMEX UK is trialling an industry-first discharge system for cement, which can be fully powered by electricity to substantially reduce fuel use and subsequent emissions. Holcim Argentina has acquired a 51 per cent stake in paints and liquid membranes producer Quitam SA.
