The “Arab Spring” has negatively impacted Turkey cement exports in the first half of 2011 as export volumes registered a 27% decline to 5.9Mt when compared to the equivalent period last year.

However, output from the country’s cement plants went up 1.11% to 30.624Mt with 24.7Mt sold domestically, which represented a YoY rise of 11.6%. Turkey’s Mediterranean regions performed particularly strong as it registered a 19% increase.
