Indonesia’s domestic cement consumption fell 5.3 per cent last month to 2.51Mt, according to data from the country’s largest cement maker, PT Semen Gresik. State-run Semen Gresik , which had an installed capacity of more than 16Mta, said its own domestic sales rose 9.8 per cent in March from the same month in 2005 to 1.24Mt Including exports, Gresik’s sales rose 0.7 percent to 1.26Mt. The data showed cement consumption in the main island of Java, which accounted for around 60 per cent of national sales, dropped by 13.8 per cent to 1.45Mt.
