At the start of the new year, Mexican cement producers have raised the price of grey cement between 6-10 per cent, according to Ramiro Páez Cruz, president of the Mexican Association of Independent Concrete Co (AMCI).
Cruz Azul and Fortaleza raised the prices of their products by five per cent while the increase by Cemex, Moctezuma and Holcim was 6.25, seven and 10 per cent, respectively.
The increases in cement prices will be passed on to the customers, said Mr Páez Cruz with concrete companies expected to put up their prices between 13-15 per cent.
