Construction of the new Sigus integrated cement plant in Oum El Bouaghi province, Algeria, is 87 per cent complete, according to Sofiane Bensaci, Finance Director of the company.
With a production capacity of 2.2Mta, the Sigus plant will employ 150 direct jobs and 2000 indirect jobs, and commence production in March 2019.
Total investment in the plant, which is part of the state-owned Groupe Industriel des Ciments d’Algerie (GICA), is DZD51bn (USD429m).
