Mikhail Skorokhod, president of Russia's Eurocement group, has provided an update on the company’s Akhangarancement project to the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The plans will see a group of industrial projects developed in Akhangaran, Uzbekistan.
"The result of the cluster will be a production complex with an annual capacity of 5Mt of cement, 144,000m3 of ready-mixed concrete, 30,000m3 of concrete products, as well as other products. The company will make a significant contribution to providing the Republic of Uzbekistan with building materials for the implementation of the most important infrastructure projects, the construction of comfortable and practical housing, and will help to meet the growing public demand for real estate," said Mr Skorokhod.
The company is expected to invest around US$200m to implement the plans, with around US$100m already committed.
