India’s South Central Railway (SCR) has met representatives from leading domestic cement producers to discuss the improvement of its cement loading. UltraTech, India Cements, Kesoram Cements, ACC, Orient and Bharati Cements all assured railway authorities that cement loading will increase in the coming months, according to Telangana Today.
The cement industry is the second-largest freight contributor for SCR, which loaded nearly 13.71Mt during the first half of the FY19-20, the highest amongst all the zonal railways. The SCR zone has also shown continuous improvement with a share of 22.6 per cent of the total cement loading of Indian Railways.
