A growth of 17 per cent was recorded by Bangladesh's cement industry in export revenues during FY17-18 (July 2017-June 2018), says data released by Export Promotion Bureau (EPB). The country exported cement and other materials worth of US$12.59m during FY17-18, compared to US$10.79m earned in the year-ago corresponding months. LafargeHolcim Bangladesh Ltd has completed the replacement of its 17km-long conveyor belt in an effort to reduce noise emissions. The belt was originally installed in 2004 and connects its limestone mine in India to its plant in Surma, Bangladesh.
