Cemex to open 0.45Mta mill in Clemencia, Colombia09 October 2013, Published under Cement NewsCemex has scheduled the inauguration of its new 0.45Mta cement grinding unit in Clemencia, Colombia. The mill will produce two types of cement – for general use and structural applications – to distribute in bags and bulk. It is expected that the output will be supplied to large projects under development along the Caribbean coast. Cimentos de Mocambique begins trial tests on new mill25 September 2013, Published under Cement NewsCimentos de Mocambique has started trial tests of a new mill at its Dondo works, local press have reported. With this investment, the company will increase capacity by around 0.5Mta of cement from the present 0.4Mta. The Dondo works currently serves the Sofala, Tete, Manica and southern Zambézia provinces. In July of this year Cimentos de Moçambique signed a rental contract on a mill located near the Matola plant, thus increasing its production capacity by 220,000tpa. |

Sagar-Vicat venture to begin operations in October, India02 August 2012, Published under Cement NewsThe joint-venture cement plant between Sagar Cements of India and Vicat Group of France will begin operations in October. “The clinkerisation is expected to be completed by September end,’’ Mr Srikanth Reddy, Executive Director, Sagar Cements, told Business Line. The plant is being constructed in Gulbarga district in the Indian state of Karnataka.
