Saudi: City Cement starts trail operations of Line 211 December 2014, Published under Cement NewsCity Cement Company has started trial operations of a second production line, the Saudi-based producer said in a bourse filing. The company said the new production line will have a capacity of 5500tpd. The trial period will last about four months. Last week City Cement announced it intends to invest SAR25m (US$6.7m) in an alternative energy project, to be carried out by Chinese engineering company Sinoma and be completed by the end of 1H15. |

New Fijian cement plant officially launched12 August 2014, Published under Cement NewsTengy Cement (Fiji) Company Ltd (TCFL), a Chinese investment company, has officially launched operations on the island of Fiji. Construction of the plant, situated in the outskirts of Lami, Suva, started in 2012 and was completed last year. Cement production began in February 2014 with 20,000tpa produced to date. The event will be led by Mexico’s president, Enrique Peña Nieto, and Carlos Slim Helú, head of Grupo Carso. The new works is located in Santiago de Anaya, Hidalgo, and is expected to produce 2Mta. Shree commissions Bihar grinding plant, India02 July 2014, Published under Cement NewsShree Cement has commissioned a 2Mta grinding unit at Aurangabad in Bihar as part of its plan to gain a foothold in the east of the country. In a statement to the stock exchanges, the company said it had commissioned the facility on 30 June 2014. Prior to its completion, Shree Cement had a capacity of 13.5Mta. It has embarked on expansions to take its total capacity to 25Mta by 2015 aimed at consolidating position further in the north India market and establish a presence in the east. |
