Turkish exports to Azerbaijan down 3% in 2023

Turkey’s cement exports to Azerbaijan declined by almost three per cent to US$50.9m in 2023, compared to the previous year, reports Azernews. According to Turkey’s Ministry of Trade, cement exports from Turkey to Azerbaijan advanced by 0.9 per cent to US$5.7m in December 2023, versus the same month in the previous year. Capsol Technologies has been awarded a feasibility study for the CapsolEoP® (end-of-pipe) carbon capture technology at Schwenk’s Building Material Group’s Brocēni cement plant in Latvia. CEMEX reopens Czech concrete plant

CEMEX has reopened a concrete plant that forms a key part of its portfolio in the Czech Republic, following a comprehensive development programme. Dushanbe cement plant closed

OJSC Cementi Tojik (Tajik Cement) has closed of the Dushanbe cement plant due to considerable air pollution in Tajikistan’s capital city.   The plant has been replaced by a new production unit. Earlier this year Tajik Cement opened a 1.2Mta cement plant in Ismoili Somoni, Dushanbe, on a 35ha plot. The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the plant was held on 17 September 2019.

New cement plant on track for Kyrgyzstan

A new cement plant is set to launch in Chuy region, Kyrgyzstan in 2024. The plant will have a capacity of 1.7Mta and is expected to create 650 jobs. The plant will use ash dumps from the Bishkek Thermal Power Plant as raw materials and will have a waste heat recovery system to generate electricity. Ukrainian cement production up 38% YoY in 11M23

Cement production in Ukraine came in at 5.8Mt in the first 11 months of 2023, according to Ukrcement. This marks a 38.2 per cent increase on the same period a year earlier. Taiwan Cement completes share agreement for Denizli Çimento

Taiwan Cement Corp  has finalised its agreement with OYAK Çimento to acquire a further 20 per cent stake in Denizli Çimento ,Turkey. According to Reuters this will boost Taiwan Cement's share in the company to 60 per cent. The preliminiary Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding the deal was signed in November this year. Reuters has assigned Denizli Çimento a total enterprise value of US$1.42bn. 

CTP Team selected to supply WHRS for Eskisehir cement plant

Enerjisa Enerji and ÇIMSA ( Sabanci Group ) have selected CTP Team and CTN Group to implement a waste heat recovery system (WHRS) at the cement producer's  Eskisehir plant  in Turkey.
