Indonesia's cement demand fell 9.7 percent to 17,499,807t in the 3Q20 from 19,384,326t in the 3Q19, according to the Indonesian Cement Association (ASI). The decline in domestic cement consumption was mitigated by a 62.4 per cent surge in exports, which increased to 3,128,985t in the 3Q20 from 19,384,326t in the year-ago period. Cement demand in Indonesia fell to 6.175Mt in September 2020, according to the Indonesian cement association, ASI. Cement demand in Indonesia declined 16.3 per cent YoY to 5.3Mt in July 2020, according to the Indonesian Cement Association (ASI). The market of Sulawesi saw the largest contraction at 26.1 per cent to 413,000t. However, the drop in consumption in the key markets of Sumatra and Java had a greater impact.
