FLSmidth secures US$200m contract with Iraq Cement

FLSmidth has announced that it has won a contract worth more than US$200m to construct a 6000tpd cement plant in Al Muthana province of southern Iraq. The contract, awarded by the Iraq Cement Company, will see FLSmidth provide equipment, build and commission the plant, and provide training for employees. Lafarge Cement Jordan's Rashadiya cement works is to reduce production costs by generating some of its electricity by solar power. The cement producer is contracting Adenium Energy Capital to build a solar plant for the facility, which is located in the southern governorate of Tafileh. Caribbean Cement orders reclaimer

Caribbean Cement has ordered a new 700tph full-portal reclaimer for limestone with a railspan of 42m for its Rockfort plant in Jamaica. The order follows a long-standing project, which was initially considering the conversion of existing equipment. However, the purchase of a new machine proved to be more economical than carrying out several modifications to the existing equipment.

Saudi Arabia: Wärtsilä power plant for Yamana Cement

Yamana Cement Company have awarded Wärtsilä an EPC contract for the supply of a 161MW Flexicycle power plant. In addition to the EPC contract, the companies have also signed a five-year operation and maintenance management agreement as well as a 10-year spare parts supply agreement. KHD has been awarded a contract by Cementos Argos for a works in Colombia. Cementos Argos ordered three Pyrojet Burners for coal and gas firing, to be installed at its plant in Yumbo, Cali. FLSmidth has signed a contract with Larsen & Tourbro Ltd for the engineering and supply of equipment for a 3000tpd cement production line. The new plant will be located in Ariyalur, approximately 300km south of Chennai. Loesche GmbH, Germany, has signed a new contract with Sinoma-NCDRI, China, to supply three vertical roller mills to Thanh Thang Group Cement JSC in Vietnam.
