UNICEM orders Loesche mill for new Calabar line, Nigeria

United Cement Company of Nigeria (UNICEM) has ordered the largest Loesche mill to-date, an LM 70.4+4 for its new line at the Calabar cement works. The Loesche LM 70.4+4 will be used at Unicem’s new Calabar line in Nigeria with an output of 370tph at 4700 Blaine. The delivery period is 14 months. MacGregor, of the Cargotec group, has won a contract from New Times Shipyard, in China, for Intership Navigation Co Ltd's three new 36,500dwt Laker-class bulk carriers. Cyprus-based Intership Navigation manages a fleet of more than 80 vessels, mainly consisting of dry bulk and break bulk vessels, cement carriers and product tankers. A new cement carrier being built at the Scheepswerf Ferus Smit yard in the Netherlands will feature a six-cylinder Wärtsilä 34DF main engine, making it the first bulk carrier to adopt Wärtsilä’s multi-fuel capability. India-based producer Wonder Cement has placed an order with Gebr Pfeiffer for raw meal and coal mills as part of plans to expand its Tehsil Nimbahera cement works. Wartsila has received an order to supply a turnkey power plant from Saudi-based Umm Al-Qura Cement Co. The contract for the 47MW facility will be located in the mountain desert close to Taif city.
