KHD signs contracts in Russia

 ZAB Zementanlagenbau GmbH Dessau (ZAB), Dessau, Germany, a subsidiary of KHD Humboldt Wedag International AG (KHD), Germany, has signed contracts totalling over EUR100m for equipment and services for a new cement plant with a production capacity of 4500tpd clinker. The new plant will be built in the Northern Caucasus region of Russia.

Anhui Conch has reportedly signed an agreement to construct a 2Mta cement plant in Ulyanovsk, Russia. Located on the Volga River in the west of the country, Ulyanovsk lies 893km from Moscow. The new plant is rumoured to be costing US$274m. Cement demand is expected to be strong in the region following the announcement of over 325 infrastructure projects over the last five years. Anhui Conch Cement Co of China is planning to build a 2Mta a cement plant in the Ulyanovsk region of Russia, local press report. The estimated investment in the project is US$300m, according to Esmerk Russian News.

Russia: BaselCement output up 4% YoY

BaselCement produced just over 1Mt of cement and clinker in the first half of 2015, up four per cent YoY, according to the statement. Mechel signs memorandum with Jidong Cement

Russian mining and metals company Mechel ОАО signed a  coal supply memorandum with Chinese cement producer Jidong Cement. According to the signed memorandum, Mechel is due to supply 1Mt of steam coal produced at Neryungrinsky and Elga open pits to Jidong Cement between April 2015 and March 2016. Buzzi Unicem's first-quarter turnover increased by 3.4 per cent to EUR513.39m and the EBITDA went from a EUR10.26m to EUR27.15m. The loss at the trading level was reduced by 48.6 per cent to EUR19.24m. Net financial charges increased by 31.3 per cent to EUR43.01m giving a seasonal pre-tax loss 24.5 per cent lower at EUR46.16m. Earlier this month a delegation from Anhui Conch Cement Company Ltd met with the governor of the Chelyabinsk region in Russia to discuss the possibility of setting up a cement plant in the South Urals. Conch reportedly in discussions for Chelyabinsk plant, Russia

The government of the Chelyabinsk region (Urals) and China's Anhui Conch Cement Co (ACCC) are negotiating the construction of a cement plant, according to Russian news sources. Conch has been provided several plots for assessment, the reports state. According to General Manager Wang Jianchao, a project scheme will be determined in the near future, whether to modernise existing production facilities or build a new at an undeveloped deposits.
