Buzzi Unicem finalises Uralcement acquisition02 December 2014, Published under Cement NewsBuzzi Unicem, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Dyckerhoff GmbH, has completed the acquisition of a 100 per cent interest in Uralcement, Russia, from Lafarge. Uralcement is located near the town of Korkino, about 40km south of Chelyabinks. The wet-process plant has a capacity of 1.1Mta. The acquisition lifts Buzzi Unicem's production capacity in Russia to approximately 4.5Mta. |

The funds will be spent to upgrade production to switch to a new cement-making process and reduce the cost of natural gas. Its railway transportation to the enterprise will be subsidised by the state. The approved amount of the subsidies totals RUB290bn in 2014. |

Sibirsky Cement anticipates 2015 sales decline20 November 2014, Published under Cement NewsRussian concrete producer Sibirsky Cement expects its sales to decrease by per cent YoY in 2015, First Vice President Gennady Rasskazov told reporters. “We are making budget plans for next year, but I think that it (sales) will stand at 4-4.1Mt,” Rasskazov said. Mikhailovcement Jan-Sept output up 20.2% YoY14 October 2014, Published under Cement NewsMikhailovcement, part of the Eurocement group, produced 1.21Mt of cement in January-September 2014, up 20.2 per cent on the comparative period of last year. The Mikhailovcement plant, situated in the Ryazan region, produced 281,350t of CEM I 42.5H (+65.6 per cent) and 981,620t of clinker (+17 per cent) during the period.
