Russia’s Antimonopoly Service blocks Siberian deal

Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has disallowed a deal for cement producer Russkyaya Tsementanaya Kompania to acquire a 100 per cent shareholding in fellow cement producer Iskitimtsement, according to local press reports. Dyckerhoff to take impairment charge on Russian project

Russia's leading cement producer Eurocement Group is to invest over EUR1.5bn in five expansion projects of its production facilities until 2015. Among them, the plant in Voronezh Province, with a capacity of 2.4Mt, is to be put into operation by the end of 2012. Russia's leading cement producer Eurocement plans to invest around RUB12bn (US$387.7m) to build a dry-process line at its Nevyansky Tsementnik plant in the Sverdlovsk Region, the regional government reported on Monday. The new line will have a capacity of 1.3Mta.  The company will invest its own and borrowed funds into  construction of the project.

Russia’s Sibirsky Cement increased its sales by 6% to 3.561Mt in the first 10 months of 2012, the company said in a press release. The company’s production rose by 5.5% to 3.543Mt in Jan-Oct 2012. Based in the Kemorovo Region, Sibirsky Cement operates three works and commands an annual production capacity of around 5.3Mta.
