Cement for tsunami relief to get duty refund

The Indian finance ministry on Wednesday said that excise duty in cement and steel used in construction of new houses and temporary shelters in tsunami affected areas would be refunded. Eastern Province Cement to import 100,000t clinker

Saudi cement producer Eastern Province Cement Company (EPC) has reportedly signed an agreement to import 100,000t of clinker, to be used for cement production, local media reported on August 14, 2005. The move is aimed at raising EPC’s supply to the local market in order to meet the increasing demand, EPC’s director general Zamil al-Muqrin, said.

Fancesa signs US$20m cement deal with SNC

Bolivian cement producer Fancesa has signed contracts worth US$20.3m to deliver cement to major roadworks and other operations in Tarija and Potosì departments, a SNC government official told local reporters.
