Qatar National Cement Co (QNCC) is now looking to export as much as 3Mta of clinker, particularly focussing on markets in Africa, Asia (including India) and Kuwait. Cement prices in Pakistan's northern region to advance

According to BMA Capital Management Ltd, cement prices in northern Pakistan are expected to increase by PKR15‐20/bag (US$0.10-US$0.14/bag), effective from 1 May 2019, supported by supply adjustments. GICA exports 15,000t of clinker to Côte d’Ivoire

GICA has carried out a further shipment of clinker to Côte d’Ivoire, according to Samir Setiti, president and CEO of GICA subsidiary Sodismac. A consignment of 15,000t of clinker, produced in GICA’s Beni Safi (Aïn Témouchent) works, has left the port of Ghaza. Since May 2018 GICA has carried out around 15 export shipments from various Algerian ports. More than 0.5Mt of clinker have been shipped to Europe while at present west Africa is a key export market for the company.

Pakistan's seaborne exports grow July 2018-March 2019

Cement exports during the first nine months of July 2018 to March 2019 recorded a YoY growth of 32.8 per cent and 55.4 per cent in terms of value in dollar and quantity, respectively, according to Pakistan's Bureau of Statistics (PBS). The overall output of Pakistan's Large-Scale Manufacturing Industries (LSMI) fell by 1.7 per cent for July-February 2018-19 compared to July-February 2017-18, reports Pakistan's Bureau of Statistics (PBS). The National Assembly of Armenia passed a law to establish import duties of AMD22,000/t (US$45.56/t) on the import of cement for a period of one year, until April 2020. Pakistan’s cement exports to South Africa have significantly fallen over the last two years as a result of the anti-dumping duty imposed by the South African government, according to Mohammad Rafiq Memon, chairman of the Pakistan-South Africa Business Forum (PSABF). Rwanda Bureau of Standards (RBS) returned cement imports into Rwanda by Uganda's Hima Cement Ltd (LafargeHolcim group) last month after they failed to meet the country's import quality standards. Bangladesh's cement industry recorded a reduction of 16.4 per cent in export revenue to US$8.16m during the first nine months of FY18-19 (July 2018-March 2019) compared to US$9.76, earned in the equivalent period of the previous financial year, according to the Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau.
