Cimsa full-year net profit surges

Turkey-based Cimsa said its consolidated net profit surged 162 per cent to TRL302.3m (EUR99.6m) in 2013. Limak plans two new Turkish plants

Turkish cement producer Limak Group plans to construct two new plants as part of its ongoing expansion plans, with investments amounting to EUR117.5m. The company is also planning investments further afield with two projects earmarked in Africa. OYAK Cement full-year operating profit rises 52%

Turkish producer OYAK Cement Group said on Monday its operating profit rose 52 per cent to TRL343m (EUR112m) in 2013. Consolidated sales rose 17 per cent to TRL1.3bn. EBITDA was up 41 per cent to TRL414m in 2013. Under OYAK Cement’s wing are five subsidiaries: Adana Cimento, Mardin Cimento, Bolu Cimento, Unye Cimento and Aslan Cimento.

Cementir offsets a weaker Italy by better markets elsewhere

Cementir Holding's turnover improved by 1.3 per cent to  EUR988.6m, while at constant currencies the increase would have been 5.6 per cent. Cimko to receive IFC loan, euro syndicated loan

The IFC is to provide a long-term financing package to Turkish cement producer Cimko to back investments in the ready-mix concrete segment and energy efficiency, the international lender has said. The debt facility includes a US$40m loan for IFC's own account and a syndicated loan of EUR18m from BNP Paribas Fortis SA/NV mobilised by IFC. Unye Cimento to open Romanian branch

Turkish cement producer Unye Cimento Sanayi ve Ticaret is to open a branch for the import, export and sale of bulk and bagged cement in Romania’s Black Sea town of Mangalia, the company said. The branch will take over the operations of the company’s Romanian unit Unye Cem SRL, Unye Cimento said in a bourse filing on Tuesday, without providing further details.

Nuh Cimento subsidiary sells stake in electricity producer, Turkey

Nuh Cimento announced that its Nuh Enerji Elektrik energy subsidiary has agreed to sell its 100 per cent stake in electricity producer Pamuk Elektrik to Haldiz Insaat Otomotiv, for a consideration of TRY8.2m (EUR 2.8m) The deal is subject to approval from Turkish energy market regulator EPDK and from the other related local authorities, according to a bourse statement by Nuh Cimento. The Turkish cement producer added that it would record a TRY16.6mn loss from the sale.
