Titan's turnover improved by 2.7 per cent in 2014 to EUR1158.4m but the EBITDA emerged 2.6 per cent lower at EUR181.6m. Following an 8.5 per cent reduction in the depreciation charge, the trading profit advanced by 7.0 per cent to EUR76.6m. Turkish cement producer Sançim Cimento (Sançim) has been acquired by Askale Çimento, according to local news reports. The acquisition follows the recently aborted acquisition of Sancim by domestic cement major Cimsa, for EUR185.14m. The new owner of Sancim is a joint-venture of Sonmez Holding (43 per cent), Aunde Teknik (38 per cent), E.N.A. Tekstil (10 per cent) and Umut Insaat (nine per cent).

Baticim Enerji signs loan agreement, Turkey

Turkish renewable energy producer Baticim Enerji Elektrik Uretim has signed a US$40m loan agreement with local lender Akbank, Baticim Enerji’s affiliate company Baticim Bati Anadolu Cimento Sanayii said. Turkey: Afyon Cimento to relocate plant

Turkish cement producer Afyon Cimento Sanayi has decided to invest US$165m (EUR133m) to reloctate its cement plant from Afyonkarahisar in western Turkey. The company will reconstruct the 0.55Mta cement plant at a new site in Halimoru village in the same district and will upgrade the plant with modern technology, the company said.

CRH and its Turkish partner Eren Holdings have applied to Turkey's competition regulator to sell their joint venture, Denizli Cimento, to army pension fund OYAK Group, according to a statement on the watchdog's website.
