Loesche wins Than Thang Cement mill orders

At the beginning of 2020 Loesche received a follow-up order from Thanh Thang Group Cement JSC in Vietnam to supply two vertical roller mills. The two mills are destined for a new cement line at the Bong Lang cement plant in Ha Nam province. The new cement line is a greenfield project. Vietnam’s cement market contracted 11 per cent YoY and 13 per cent MoM as domestic cement sales reached 5,664,973t in April 2020, according to the latest data from the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA). China was the largest market for Vietnamese cement imports in the first quarter of 2020, importing 2.73Mt worth US$96.92m, according to the latest data from the General Department of Vietnam Customs. Vietnam’s cement industry is not expected to see the construction of any new production lines this year, according to Nguyen Quang Cung, chairman of the Vietnam Cement Association (VNCA). Vietnamese producers supplied 6,508,053t of cement to the domestic market in March 2020, according to the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA). This represents a decrease of one per cent YoY but a 55 per cent MoM rise. Siam Cement to buy Vietnamese packaging company

Siam Cement is to acquire a Vietnamese packaging materials maker, Bien Hoa Packaging. The group will purchase Bien Hoa Packaging through a joint venture with top Japanese cardboard maker Rengo. Exports from Vietnam decline due COVID-19 pandemic

Vietnam exported 7.5Mt of cement and clinker, to a value of US$291m, in the first quarter of this year, said the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The lower volume has been attributed to the coronavirus pandemic. Total cement sales in Vietnam reached 4.207Mt in February 2020, up 58 per cent YoY and 47 per cent MoM, according to the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA). The total includes 1.383Mt delivered by VICEM, representing an increase of 48 per cent YoY and 53 per cent MoM. Bim Son Cement announces sales targets for 2020

Vietnam’s Bim Son Cement JSC has announced a sales target of 5.6Mt of cement and clinker in 2020, up 30.2 per cent compared to 4.3Mt in 2019. The company is also aiming to reach a pretax profit of VND265bn (US$11.42m) for the year, a rise of 35.6 per cent on VND195.5bn last year.
