Latest data from the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers’ Association show cement dispatches reached 3.326Mt last month, of which 2.558Mt was consumed by the domestic market and 0.786Mt exported. South Africa sales rise by 3% in 201204 April 2013, Published under Cement NewsSouth African cement sales edged ahead 2.9 per cent in 2012 to reach 11.6Mt from 11.23Mt the year before, data from the Cement and Concrete Institute (C&CI) shows. For the final quarter of the year, sales were just over 3Mt, also representing an increase of 2.9 per cent on the same period of 2011 when fourth-quarter sales were 2.944Mt. The C&CI will be closing down at the end of April, and as such, these are the last set of statistics to be issued by the institute. |
Ube Industries prepares for further growth in domestic demand, Japan04 April 2013, Published under Cement NewsJapanese cement producer Ube Industries is to develop a limestone mine in Yamaguchi Prefecture to prepare for further expected increases in cement demand. This will be the company’s first mine development in 35 years and production is expected to start in 2017, according to a Nikkei Report.
