Cementos Inka has opened its second plant in Pisco , Peru. Argentina's cement market expands 1% in 1H23

Cement dispatches in Argentina declined by 2.1 per cent YoY to 1,080,422t in June 2023 from 1,104,066t in June 2022, according to the country’s cement association, AFCP. When compared with the previous month, dispatches edged up by 0.8 per cent from 1,071,951t in May 2023. The market was entirely supplied by domestic production – no imports were reported. Sri Lanka agrees maximum price for cement

Cement producers in Sri Lanka have reached an agreement with the country’s Minister of Trade, Nalin Fernando, to establish a maximum retail price for a 50kg bag of cement. According to NewsWire, the agreed price has been set at LKR2300/bag (US$7.39/bag).  Sri Lanka is currently home to one integrated cement plant and four grinding units, with a total cement production capacity of around 8Mta.

Total cement deliveries by APC members Asment Temara, Ciments de l’Atlas, Ciments du Maroc and LafargeHolcim Maroc declined 14.4 per cent YoY to 1,052,975t in June 2023 from 1,229,937t in June 2022, reported the country’s Ministry of National Territory Planning, Land Planing, Housing and City Policy, based on APC data. Orient Cement , part of the CK Birla Group, has reported total income of INR29,375.5m (US$358.2m) in its FY22-23 annual report (FY21-22:INR27,350m). EBITDA over the same period came in at INR3765.6m (FY21-22:INR6006m), with an EBITDA margin of 12.8 per cent, while profit after tax stood at INR1228.2m (FY21-22:INR2633m). Shree Cement reports 18% YoY revenue growth

Shree Cement has reported revenue from operations of INR168,374m (US$2055m) in FY22-23 (ended 31 March 2023), up 18 per cent YoY from INR143,060m in FY21-22. EBITDA in FY22-23 came in at INR33,737m, with profit after tax of INR13,281m. The company registered total sales volumes of 31.82Mt in FY22-23, marking growth of 15 per cent YoY. CEMEX's Regenera expands Mexican operations

CEMEX ’s circular waste management business, Regenera, is expanding its operations in Mexico with the opening of a new facility in partnership with leading waste collection company PASA. Cahya Mata adds new clinker line

Malaysian cement producer Cahya Mata Sarawak Bhd has been given approval to build a 1.9Mta clinker line in Kuching, Sarawak.
