Cemento Panam installs new MVR mill in Dominican Republic

Cemento Panam , part of the Estrella Group, is to install a state-of-the-art MVR vertical mill from Gebr Pfeiffer at its plant in the Dominican Republic. This marks the first such mill to be installed in the country. The MVR 3750 C-4 mill will be equipped with a latest generation SLS 4000 VC classifier and will grind several blended cements at up to 155tph to finenesses up to 4800 cm²/g (Blaine). The order will be handled by the Chinese general contractor CBMI.

Crown Cement secures loan for 6th line

Crown Cement Plc has secured a syndicated loan facility for the construction of the sixth cement line at its plant in West Mukterpur, Munshiganj , Bangladesh. Votorantim Cimentos SA has requested a US$150m investment loan from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for a capex project at its Salto plant in São Paulo, Brazil. South Korea’s cement industry is likely to increase cement prices by 14 per cent from July, citing the impact of sharply rising electricity prices and currency exchange rate as the main drivers. Cement dispatches in Peru fell by 17 per cent YoY to 0.883Mt in April 2023, according to the Peruvian cement association, Asocem. Of this total, 0.851Mt was delivered by Asocem members.
