Holcim Croatia to invest HRK9.6m in low-carbon cement

Holcim Croatia will invest HRK9.6m (US$1.5m) in a project to develop low-carbon cement production. Around 35 per cent of this amount will be a HRK3.3m grant from Innovation Norway. Peru's cement market expands 18% in August

Cement dispatches in Peru advanced 18 per cent to 1.202Mt in August 2021 when compared with 1.018Mt in August 2020, according to Asocem, the country’s cement association. When compared with July 2021, dispatches increased by six per cent. Asocem members dispatched 1.112Mt, up 19 per cent YoY and six per cent MoM. The foundation stone for Lafarge Poland's Małogoszcz plant modernisation has been ceremonially laid, which signals the beginning of construction of a new rotary kiln. Vietnamese cement market contracts 33% in August

Cement sales in Vietnam fell 33 per cent YoY and 31 per cent MoM to 3,503,485t in August 2021, according to the Vietnamese cement association, VNCA. VICEM sales declined 31 per cent YoY and MoM to 1,122,792t while the sales of its associates fell 48 per cent YoY and 32 per cent MoM to 700,693t in August 2021.
