India’s Nuvoco Vistas Corp has recorded a consolidated net profit of INR1.14bn (US$15.58m) in the first quarter of the fiscal ending 30 June 2021, compared to an INR913.8m net loss in the year-ago period. Chilean cement producer CBB (formerly known as Cementos Bío-Bío) reported a 13.9 per cent advance in revenues to CLP134.538bn in the first six months of 2021 from CLP118.124bn in the 6M20. In August 2021 the Argentine market expanded by 18.2 per cent YoY to 1,083,914t from 917,233t in August 2020 while MoM there was a 3.9 per cent improvement in offtake, according to the Asociación de Fabricantes de Cemento Portland (AFCP). Odisha approves Jajpur cement projects

The state government of Odisha, India, has approved the proposal of My Home Industries Pvt Ltd to set up a 3Mta cement grinding unit at Badchana, Jajpur district. The project represents an investment of INR6.5bn (US$88.9m). Ramco Cements Ltd’s INR1.9bn project to expand its existing facility at Haridaspur, Jajpur district, with a 0.9Mta grinding plant was also cleared by the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority meeting.

Chile-based Cemento Polpaico reported a surge in consolidated revenues from CLP76,528m in the 1H20 to CLP152,376m in the 1H21. Profit before tax reached CLP9361m, reversing a loss of CLP8424m in the 1H20. Net profit reached CLP6833m in the 1H21, from a loss of CLP5862 in the 1H20. LafargeHolcim Maroc saw a 66 per cent rise in revenues to MAD2078m (US$232.4m) in the second quarter of 2021 from MAD1252m in the 2Q20. The positive trend has been attributed mainly to the increase in sales across the board. In the first half of 2021 revenues increased by 26 per cent YoY to MAD4000m from MAD3185m in the 1H20. The company’s debt fell by 10 per cent YoY to MAD5952m at 30 June 2021.
