Cement consumption in Indonesia advanced by 56 per cent YoY in July 2017, rising from 3.8Mt to 5.9Mt, according to figures from the Indonesian Cement Association. Argentina saw a 18.1 per cent MoM drop to 845,690t in dispatches (including exports) in April but noted a 10.7 per cent rise YoY, according to the country’s Portland Cement Manufacturers’ Association. Cement consumption in Spain soared 21.5 per cent YoY in March to 1.1Mt as the housing sector showed some recovery, according to Oficemen, the country’s cement association. Cement consumption in Peru saw a six per cent YoY fall but recorded a 1.4 per cent MoM rise, according to Asocem, the country’s cement association. Demand reached 0.747Mt, down from 0.795Mt in the third month of 2016. Total cement sales in Pakistan in February 2017 were 3.435Mt, down by 0.41 per cent from 3.449Mt during the corresponding month of last year, according to the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA). Vietnam sold 9.4Mt of cement in the first two months of 2017, representing a 0.4 per cent decrease when compared with January-February 2016, according to the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction. The total included 6.8Mt of domestic sales, down 2.7 per cent YoY, and 2.6Mt of clinker and cement exports, a rise of 20.9 per cent YoY. Philippine cement sales increased 6.6 per cent to 25.96Mt in 2016 from 24.36Mt the previous year, according to the Cement Manufacturers Association of the Philippines (CeMAP). "The annual increase in sales for 2016 shows the continuing momentum for increased infrastructure," CeMAP president Ernesto Ordonez said. Colombia's cement sales fall 2.8% in January

January cement sales in Colombia fell 2.8 per cent YoY to 913,190t, according to the country’s statistic office, DANE. The largest decreases were reported in Casanare and Boyacá, which saw sales decrease by 46.8 and 25.5 per cent, respectively. Antioquia reported an increase in sales of  9.1 per cent when compared with January 2015. Cement production in January 2017 reached 910,350t, down six per cent YoY. The share of bagged cement slipped by 2.8 per cent YoY.
