Birla Cement is to benefit from new open access solar power project

Waaree Energies, India’s largest solar module manufacturer has supplied 330wp & 335wp solar modules for a 28MWp captive solar open access project in Uttar Pradesh that will supply power to Birla Corporation Ltd (MP Birla Cement).   This is the first captive open access project commissioned in Uttar Pradesh under the Uttar Pradesh Connectivity Auction. Prism Johnson commissions further WHR and solar capacity

India’s Prism Johnson has commissioned a 12.4MW waste heat recovery (WHR) unit and 10MW of solar power at its cement plant in Satna, Madya Pradesh. This is in addition to the 12.5MW of solar power capacity that was put into operation in the FY19-20 and the 10MW WHR facility that was installed in November 2020 at the same plant. The installations are expected to help the company reduce its dependence on non-renewable sources of energy and are part of its sustainability initiatives.

New Zealand-based Fletcher Building has announced the completion of its project at Golden Bay Cement, which will see up to 3m used tyres be used in cement manufacturing every year. The upgrade to the integrated cement plant based in Portland, Whangarei, was officially opened by New Zealand's Minister for the Environment, David Parker.
