Pakistan dispatches rise 9.5% in first seven months

Vietnam’s cement consumption increased six per cent MoM and 47 per cent YoY to 4.37Mt in January 2015, according to the Department of Building Materials at the country’s Ministry of Construction. Iranian exports exceed 14.5Mt in first nine months

Iran’s cement and clinker exports have surpassed 14.5Mt in the first nine months of the Iranian calendar year (starting 21 March 2014). Of the total, 68.7 per cent were cement and the remainder clinker, news agency IRNA reported citing Iran’s Ministry of Industries and Mines. Among the country’s export destinations are Iraq, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Pakistan, Qatar, Turkey, the UAE, Georgia, Oman, India, and China.

Bangladesh, Indonesia and Malaysia remain Vietnamese top importers

Bangladesh, Indonesia and Malaysia were the top importers of Vietnamese clinker and cement exports last year, the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade said on its website. Bangladesh took the lead after importing 8.39Mt of cement worth US$323m from Vietnam last year, while Indonesia came second with 2.65Mt worth US$123m and Malaysia ranked third with 1.28Mt worth US$62m. Vietnam targets increased exports in 2015

Vietnam is forecast to export 25-26Mt of cement and clinker in 2015, the Dau Tu (Investment) newspaper reported, citing the country’s Ministry of Construction. The main end-markets include Bangladesh, Middle East countries and Cambodia, according to the report. Last year, exports jumped 30 per cent from 2013 to nearly 20Mt, the report added.

Peru’s cement market absorbed around 881,360t of cement in December 2014, according to the latest data from the country’s cement association, Asocem. Domestic producers reached an output of 932,603t in the last month of 2014, of which 37,491t of cement were exported as well as 30,014t of clinker. State-owned Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem) sales rose by 3.2 per cent from a year ago and exceeded the year’s target by 5.7 per cent boosted by higher exports. For the full year, the country’s leading cement producer sold approximately 24.64Mt of cement and clinker. Iran cement exports fell 8.5 per cent YoY in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar, but a rise in clinker shipments boosted the overall total.
