Robust cement sales growth for Indonesia in May

Cement sales in Indonesia amounted to 5.678Mt in May. This is an increase of 11.2 per cent YoY compared to the 5.008Mt reported a year earlier. Regional sales reported growth across all areas led by Kalimantan where the development of Indonesia’s new capital, Nusantara, is ongoing. Senegal market expands 7% in April

Cement sales in Senegal were up seven per cent from 525,000t in April 2023 to 562,000t in April 2024, according to Senegal’s Ministry of Planned Economy and Co-operation. Cement producers produced 702,800t in April 2024, up 1.3 per cent YoY, from 693,500t in the equivalent period in 2023. BMA Capital recently organised a webinar with Inayat Ullah Niazi, the CFO of DG Khan Cement Co (DGKC). Cement dispatches in Peru increased eight per cent YoY to 0.97Mt in April 2024, according to the country’s cement association, ASOCEM. Cement dispatches in Peru declined by eight per cent YoY to 0.897Mt in March 2024, reports the Peruvian cement association, ASOCEM. Of this total, 0.825Mt was dispatched by ASOCEM members. Dangote Cement commits to CNG trucks by 2025

Dangote Cement has pledged that all of its trucks will be operating on compressed natural gas (CNG) by the end of 2025, reports Vanguard. Cement dispatches in Brazil increased 12.3 per cent YoY to 5.142Mt in April 2024 from 4.577Mt in April 2023. Iranian cement sales came in at 4.051Mt in April, down 10 per cent YoY from 4.5Mt a year earlier, according to the Iranian cement association. Cement consumption in Spain recovered in April after poor weather and fewer working days weighed heavily on the 1Q24.
