Pakistan's cement sector has shown impressive export performance in the first half of the FY24-25 (July-December 2024). According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), exports of cement and clinker increased by 23.2 per cent, reaching a total value of US$167.47m (4.69Mt), up from US$135.92m (3.50Mt) during the same period last year. In terms of volume, this reflects a significant YoY increase of 33.8 per cent. When converted to Pakistani rupees, export revenue rose by 19.2 per cent, totalling PKR46.56bn (US$167m).

The growth trend continued in December 2024, with the PBS reporting a MoM increase in cement sector exports of three per cent, rising to US$31.89m from US$30.95m in November 2024. This represents a volume growth of eight per cent, increasing from 881,708t to 951,989t since the previous month. On a positive note, YoY comparisons for December indicate a significant increase, with cement exports climbing by 45.5 per cent in value and 66.3 per cent in quantity compared to December 2023, amounting to 572,570t valued at US$21.92m.
