Cement consumption in Argentina increased by 24.5 per cent to 1,087,998t in May 2022 when compared with May 2021 when 874,188t was sold in the domestic market, according to the country’s cement association, AFCP. Exports of secondary fuels, such as refuse-derived fuel (RDF) and solid recovered fuel (SRF), from England fell by 40,055t in March this year, compared to the same period a year earlier. Bangladesh has reported a 21.79 per cent YoY increase in revenue from cement exports in the 10MFY21-22 (July 2021-April 2022). Revenue for the period came in at US$7.77m, compared to US$6.38m in the same period a year earlier. Total cement deliveries in Vietnam fell nine per cent to 5,968,302t in April 2022 when compared with April 2021 and decreased 16 per cent when compared with March 2022, according to the Vietnamese National Cement Association (VNCA). Cement dispatches in Peru increased 10 per cent YoY to 1.086Mt in April 2022 from 0.984Mt in the equivalent period of 2021, according to cement association, Asocem. Cement consumption in Iran reached 4Mt in April 2022, according to the Iranian cement association. The country produced 6.99Mt of clinker, of which it exported 0.79Mt. Cement production stood at 4.56Mt, which was mostly destined for domestic markets although 0.42Mt was exported.
