Cement sales in Brazil increased by 2.4 per cent to 5.372Mt in June 2024 from 5.248Mt in June 2023, according to the country's cement association, SNIC. Per working day, cement dispatches were up 4.6 per cent YoY to 238,800t. Ukraine's cement association, Ukrcement, has appealed to the government to amend the current electricity import rate of 80 per cent. A committee from Nigeria’s House of Representatives, investigating the hike in cement prices, has warned it will issue arrest warrants for Dangote Cement’s management after executives failed to honour an invitation. Boiler explosion kills two and injures 14 at UltraTech plant

A boiler explosion at the   UltraTech Cement   factory in the Jaggaihpet region of India has reportedly killed two workers and injured 14 others.   Of the injured, Avula Venkatesh and Paritala Arjun died while being treated, and a further three workers are said to be in critical condition according to NTR District Collector, Gummalla Srijana.
