Eurocement to build plant in Ryazan Region

Eurocement Group has announced US$440m plans to build a state-of-the-art cement factory in Ryazan region. The plant’s projected annual capacity is 3Mt of cement. Further parameters for the project, including its timeframes, have yet to be announced.

Indonesia Sept cement consumption falls 14 per cent

Indonesia’s domestic cement consumption in September fell 14.3 per cent to 2.5Mt from a year earlier, industry data showed on Friday. Indonesia’s largest cement firm, PT Semen Gresik , has forecast cement consumption will grow 0-3 per cent this year, down sharply from an 11.5 per cent rise in 2008.

Dresser Roots Mexico recently won an order for two Large Rotary Blower packages model 1648 RAS-J driven by 500 HP motors with Variable Frequency Drivers (VFD) for a combustion air application to Cemento Sur. Cameroon construction growth seen rising

Growth will pick up in Cameroon in 2010 because of an increase in spending on state projects that will help counterbalance the impact of the global downturn on central Africa’s biggest economy, analysts say. China National Materials (Sinoma) and investment holding company CNBM will sign four cement production facilities construction deals with Russian cement maker Eurocement. China Sinoma International Engineering announced that it has signed two contracts worth US$228m in total with two firms owned by the Dangote Group of Nigeria, sources reported.
