Lafarge gains permission to construct new plant, Algeria

Fitch Ratings says today that it expects the recent gains in the main UK house price indices to be a temporary respite. The board of directors of Javedan Cement Ltd has accorded approval for the disposal of line- I and Line- II of semi dry kiln of the company along with with related stores and spares. China Resources Cement slightly below its offer price in early Hong Kong trading Tuesday, marking a disappointing start for the city’s latest initial public offering. Shares of China Resources Cement were quoted at HK$3.85 ($0.50), a fall of 1.2% from its IPO price of HK$3.90. The weaker debut comes as the city’s five previous IPOs ended first-day trade below their offer prices. Dalmia Cement, South India’s second largest cement maker, has raised over Rs 3,100 crore (US$660m) in debt through a consortium of bankers, which will be used to fund its expansion plans, according to the company’s managing director Puneet Dalmia. “We have raised it, a week back.
