The Azerbaijani private company Norm announced a tender to engineer and construct the Qizildas Cement plant, the company said in a press release. The tender envisages constructing an advanced technology cement production set, supplying raw materials and storing, packing and selling goods. Vietnam: Quang Binh Province to host another cement plant

The Vietnam Construction Materials Company began construction of its cement factory in Tuyen Hoa district, central Quang Binh Province last Thursday. The factory will produce 2Mta of cement and has an investment capital of VND4trn (US$235.30m). This is the second cement factory built in Tuyen Hoa. It will be completed by 2011.

An Egyptian subsidiary of Titan Cement Co. of Greece, Beni Suef Cement, has received the green light from regulators in the Middle Eastern country to launch a new production line with a capacity of 1.5Mta. India: cement sector on a sound footing, grows at 7.56 per cent

In spite of a slowdown in construction activity, domestic cement despatches have registered a healthy growth of 7.56 per cent during the April-January period on the back of factors like individual housing activity, replacement requirement and Commonwealth games related construction.
