FLSmidth has won a contract worth approximately DKK 230m (approx. EUR31m) to supply equipment for a new 4100tpd production line to Cementos Molins, Spain. Vietnam: Cement maker on track to meet sales target

Hoang Thach has produced 1.45Mt of cement so far this year and sold 1.77Mt, about half of its 2007 target.     Company executives were upbeat about the results, given recent market trends, especially rising fuel, transportation and raw material costs.     In the second half of the year, Hoang Thach hopes to produce 1Mt of clinker, 1.45Mt of cement and sell nearly 1.8 trillion tonnes of product.

Cement prices to remain steady at current level, India

Cement prices, which generally declines in the monsoon season, are unlikely to drop this year due to high demand, an industry official said.     "I do not expect cement prices to go down in the monsoon season due to high demand. The prices should remain steady at the current level," Cement Stockist and Dealers Association of Mumbai President Sanjay Ladiwala said.     The cement prices are currently ruling at Rs 235 per bag in Mumbai’s wholesale market and Rs 250-255 per bag in retail.    ...

ACC may own major stake in Shiva Cement

ACC, the country’s largest cement company, is likely to emerge as the majority shareholder of Rourkela-based Shiva Cement in the next four to five months.     The Shiva Cement board on Monday approved the allotment of 22.7 million convertible warrants to ACC. Post-conversion, ACC’s shareholding will scale up to 22 per cent from the existing 11.2 per cent. The Croatian unit of Holcim said on Wednesday it has acquired a majority stake in Plovanija Kamen stone quarry and cement plant for an undisclosed sum.     "The acquisition strengthens  Holcim’s position in Croatia and will increase its total production to some 1.5 Mt of aggregates and 180,000m3 of concrete," Holcim Croatia said in a statement.
