Upgrade of Essroc plant confirmed23 January 2006, Published under Cement NewsItalcementi Group on Friday announced a US$320m expansion and upgrade to its Martinsburg, West Virginia plant. Once the project is completed, the plants production of clinker, will increase from 2350tpd to 6000tpd. Essroc acquired the plant, formerly Capital Cement Plant, in 2002. Last summer, the company completed a US$42m modernisation project of one of its two plants in the Nazareth area and spent US$30m building a 1.7-mile conveyor belt to transport limestone. |

Local construction workers and specialists will be employed and 500 jobs will be created.
