Cimpor sees strong improvement in Egypt

In the first nine months of the year, Cimpor improved its turnover by 11.8 per cent to €1158.0m, with operating margins across the group improving slightly as the operating profit at the EBITDA level rose by 12.0 per cent to €385.8m.  However, a 17.6 per cent increase in amortisation and depreciation left the trading profit (EBIT) only 9.7 per cent higher at €268.5m. Indonesian cement sales rose two per cent on-year to 32.33Mt in the first 10 months of this year, the cement association (ASI) said.  Sales in the domestic market totaled 26.8Mt, up 6.2 per cent year-on-year, the association said. Can Tho cement plant to increase capacity

The Vietnamese Ha Tien 2-Can Tho cement plant in the southern city of Can Tho will expand capacity to 800,000tpa at a cost of US$1.5m in order to meet increasing regional demand.   Can Tho has produced 796,000t of cement so far this year, an increase of 330,000t over the same period last year. The plant’s output is also used in HCM City and in southeastern and central areas of the country.

Cemex to spend to increase output in Dominican Republic
