Saudi cement producer Yamama Cement Company (YCC) will put into operation an additional cement mill from the end of October 2004, the company said on September 22, 2004. The cement mill will raise YCC’s daily capacity to 15,000 tonnes from the current 10,000t. U.S. logistics company GeoLogistics will acquire raw materials on behalf of Cemex under a three-year agreement signed on September 21, 2004, Cemex said. The agreement also envisages that GeoLogistics will sign private and public services contracts for Cemex. Cemex invested US$135m in its 10 years of operation in Panama, Cemex Panama manager Enzo Moshella, said on September 21, 2004. A total of US$29m were allocated for capacity increase, US$12m for environment protection programmes and US$8.0m for equipment.  Cemex started operations in Panama on September 1, 1994 after the acquisition of state-owned cement company Cemento Bayano.  Cemex products in Panama are marketed under Cemento Bayano, Flexicem, Tolteca and Cemex Concretos brands.
