Production of cement in Tajikistan rose by over 41 per cent in the first 11 months of 2016 compared to the same period in the previous year, the Times of Central Asia reports. Argentina’s cement consumption edged up 0.7 per cent YoY to 940,081t in December 2016, but fell 7.2 per cent MoM, according to provisional figures released by the country’s cement association, AFCP. Cement production in Senegal in the first 10 months of 2016 increased 10.2 per cent YoY, according to the government’s Planning and Economic Research Unit. Output at Sococim and Ciments du Sahel, which represent two out of three domestic producers, rose from 4,678,900t in 10M15 to 5,154,600t. The growth in cement consumption fell by 5.3 per cent in the third quarter of 2016 compared to 3Q15, according to a report from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS). Saudi Arabia's Yamama Cement Company has secured SAR1bn (US$266.6m) to partially fund the building of a new plant, it said on Monday. The three-year financing includes SAR750m from National Commercial Bank and SAR250m from Samba Financial Group, the company said in its statement.
