The price of bagged cement in Lagos has risen sharply overnight, according to reports in The Nation. Lafarge Iraq signs transportation deal

Lafarge Iraq have signed an agreement with Iraq’s General Company for Land Transportation (GCLT), which is owned by Iraq’s Ministry for Transport, for the transportation of its cement products. Indonesian cement exports expected to grow 50%

Indonesia's cement and clinker exports are forecast to reach 1.5Mt in 2016, a 50 per cent increase when compared with the export volume of the previous year. In the seven months to July, exports had already noted a 63 per cent YoY increase. Indonesia exported 833,000t of cement and clinker in January-July, according to the Indonesia Cement Association (ASI). Cement prices in northern India have risen by around 25 per cent YoY in the period April-July 2016, driven by rising demand, according to the Economic Times. This performance stands in contrast to other regions, where prices have either remained stable or fallen slightly. Philippine cement manufacturers reported a 10.7 per cent increase in sales to 13.2Mt for the first six months of the year. The Chzungtsai Mohir Cement cement plant has been officially opened by Emomali Rahmon, the President of Tajikistan, Asia Plus reports.
