Mikhailovcement Jan-Sept output up 20.2% YoY

Mikhailovcement, part of the Eurocement group, produced 1.21Mt of cement in January-September 2014, up 20.2 per cent on the comparative period of last year. The Mikhailovcement plant, situated in the Ryazan region, produced 281,350t of  CEM I 42.5H (+65.6 per cent) and 981,620t of clinker (+17 per cent) during the period. A total of 1.234Mt were shipped to customers, up +21.1 per cent YoY.

Semen Indonesia scales back full-year growth target

PT Semen Indonesia has reduced its 2014 sales growth target from 5-6 per cent to 4-5 per cent due to a slowdown in cement sector, its corporate secretary, Agung Wiharto, said. Mr Wiharto told Reuters that the state-owned company did not achieve its sales volumes target in the third quarter of this year. Semen Indonesia set to acquire land for new Papua plant

PT Semen Indonesia will soon acquire 500ha of land in West Papua for the construction of a cement plant at a cost of around US$150m. Semen Indonesia corporate secretary Agung Wiharto told the Jakarta Post that the firm would sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) later this year to procure the land for the first cement factory in the province. Mika Cement resumes production, Armenia

Armenia-based producer Mika Cement, which has not functioned since April 2014, has resumed production having paid off its main debts. Naira Martirosyan, director of the plant told Arminfo, that production restarted at the end of September. "We paid off the main debts on salary and electric power and at present we have been paying off the current debts," she said. Asia Cement (China) expects 30% rise in nine-month profit

Asia Cement (China) Holdings Corp said Friday its profit for the nine months ending in September is expected to increase 30 per cent YoY. The company said in a statement that the increase is mainly due to a rise in sales volume and price of the company's products when compared with the same period last year. Asia Cement recorded a profit of CNY390.8m (US$63.8m) in the first nine months of 2013.

Anhui Conch Cement Co Ltd reported that output and sales of its major subsidiaries hit record highs in September. Indonesian cement demand in the first nine months of 2014 rose by 3.4 per cent YoY to 42.993Mt, latest data from the Indonesia Cement Association (ASI) reveals. Thailand-based producer Asia Cement said it expects a pick-up in demand from late this year and into 2015 due to the government’s stimulus package and the launch of infrastructure projects.
