Al Jouf completes supply agreement

Saudi-Arabia based Al Jouf Cement said in a bourse statement today that it has completed supplying clinker and cement according to the contracts signed with Al-Rajhi Factory in Jordan. The company added that the contract value totals nearly SAR47m (US$12.5m).

Polish cement production grows 40.3% YoY in April

Polish cement production jumped by 40.3 per cent YoY to 1.45Mt in April, while sales increased 23.5 per cent YoY for the month of April to 1.46Mt, said Poland's Cement Producer Association in a statement. Year-to-date production increased 48.4 per cent YoY to 3.98Mta, while sales from January to April rose by 46.9 per cent YoY to 4.14Mta.

Semen Indonesia to acquire stake in Myanmar producer

Indonesia's largest cement manufacturing company, Semen Indonesia, is all set to enter Myanmar's cement market after it agreed to purchase a minority stake at a local cement firm, according to president director of the company, Mr Dwi Soetjipto. Total shipments of Portland and blended cement in the United States and Puerto Rico in February 2014 were 4.7Mt, up slightly from the level in February 2013 reports the US Geological Survey.
