Vietnam Cement Industry Corp (Vicem), the country’s leading cement producer, sold 1.48Mt of cement and clinker in February, up 2.78 per cent from the previous month and 42 per cent from a year ago. Belarus is set to increase cement exports to Russia by 0.5Mt this year, according to Belarusian Archictecture and Constructions Minister Anatoly Chernyl. Bolivia: Itacamba starts Yacuses construction in May

Pakistan exports have declined in the first eight months of the current fiscal, both in terms of volume and revenues. During the July 2013 – February 2014 period, exports totaled 5.46Mt on revenues of US$332.02m compared to 5.81Mt at US$376.71m in the same period of last year. Cement prices in China eased to a national average of CNY361/t (US$58) by 28 February 2014, down from a recent peak of CNY373/t (US$60) on 20 January, according to figures from Digital Steel. The downturn was largely due to weakening prices in Central Southern and Eastern China. Kuwait Cement Co (KCC) announced profits of KWD17.1m (US$60.7m) with earnings per share (EPS) at 26.1 fils for 2013, compared to a net profit of KWD14.7m and EPS of 23.7 fils in 2012.
